Four Track Friday

Four Track Friday
Episode 21

Hi Everyone!

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon me, this is going to be a short edition of 4Track! (Yes, I do it a week early. 😉)

Here are four songs to listen to on your flights home or to turn the volume up on when "that guy" starts arguing about politics at your family's Thanksgiving dinner.

Enjoy!

Post-punk rock - C'mere by Interpol

It's likely that you've already heard of Interpol, but I recently rediscovered this album. This track is from "Antics", which is one of the first albums I can remember ripping from a CD and into iTunes before uploading it to a portable hard-drive into which I'd plug headphones. Sounds archaic, right?

Good thing the sounds are timeless.

Alternative pop - Flowers & Superpowers by Wafia

Wafia is a wonderfully dreamy upcoming pop star out of Australia.

Check out this song performed live on Triple J's YouTube channel, along with her cover of Troye Sivian's "My My My!".

Japanese instrumental - Ushiwakamaru by Hizuru

Sam and Victoria recently came to visit Seattle and, of course, we got to talking about music. Luckily for me and you, they had some great music to share!

This one is from Victoria and I think I've listened to this whole Hizuru album from which this comes about twenty times. (I did cheat and put in on repeat on my recent flight, though, 😂.) In any case, if you like instrumentals or the sounds of Japan, you'll feel right at home here.

Underground hip-hop - Feather by Nujabes ft. Cise Star and Akin

This is one of Sam's favorites, and if you like hip-hop laid over instrumentals, you'll dig it too.

Jun Seba (a.k.a. Nujabes) lived from 1974 to 2010 and made quite an impact on instrumental and atmospheric hip-hop.

As always, this week’s tracks are added to the collectors for all weeks' tracks, also on Spotify and Apple Music.

Of course, don’t forget to reply with what you liked, didn’t like, and what you’ve been listening to.

Cheers,

Tanner
